884/886 Throttle Replacement

Follow the steps below to replace the Throttle on your 884-886.

     Tools Needed: 3mm allen key or hex wrench, torque wrench with 3mm allen head

     Compatible Models: Flyer™ 884 and Flyer™ 886

Getting the Bike Ready for Servicing

1. Remove the battery.

2. Press and hold the power button the display to discharge any remaining power in the bike.

   
   

Removing the Old Throttle

1. Uncoil the cable wrap starting at the front brake lever.

2. Follow the cable coming out of the throttle until you reach the throttle connection.
   
   
   
   
   

3. Directly pull apart the display connector. Do not twist the connector.
   
   
   
   
   
4. Use a 3mm allen wrench to remove the throttle clamp bolt. Pull throttle free from the handlebar.
   
   
   
   
   

Installing the New Throttle

1. Clamp the new throttle in place next to the front brake lever.
   
   
   
   
   
2. Insert the clamp bolt and tighten with a 3mm allen wrench.
   
   
   
   
   
3. Reconnect the throttle wire by lining up the pins and holes and embossed arrows on both connector heads. Press firmly to join connectors, do not use any twisting motion.
   
   
   
   
   
4. Rewind the cable wrap.
   
   

 

 

Preparing to Ride

1. Reinstall the battery.
   
2. Fully test the bike’s function prior to riding.
