884-886 Disassembly & Repack Guide

Follow the steps below to disassemble and repack your #884 Flyer™ Via™ #886 Flyer™ Via™ Pro eBike for return.

     Tools Needed: Flat-side cutters, 4mm Allen wrench, 5mm Allen wrench

     Compatible Models: #884 Flyer™ Via™ and #886 Flyer™ Via™ Pro

Packing Out the Cockpit

  1. Wrap the handgrips with a sheet of cardboard. Use masking tape to secure in place.
  2. Wrap the stem with a sheet of wax paper with a sheet of cardboard on tape. Use masking tape to secure in place.

Removing the Headlight

  1. Use a 4mm allen wrench to remove the headlight bolt.
  2. Disconnect the headlight wire.

Removing and Packing the Front Fender

  1. Remove the cover from the steering spring.
  2. Use a pair of pliers to remove the spring from the eyebolt at the top of the fork.
  3. Unscrew the eyebolt securing the fender to the fork.

  4. Use a 5mm allen wrench to remove the bolts securing the fender stay to either side of the fork.
  5. Remove the front fender.

  6. Place a sheet of cardboard on the underside and top of the front fender.
  7. Wrap a piece of tape around both sides of cardboard.

Removing and Packing the Front Wheel

  1. Use a 6mm allen wrench to loose the thru-axle.
  2. Pull the axle free from the hub.
  3. Remove the wheel.

  4. Fit the circular sheet of cardboard over front wheel on the side opposite of the rotor.
  5. Sit the packed-out fender over the top of the front wheel and zip tie it in place.

Packing Out the Fork

  1. Insert the metal spacer in between the legs of the fork.
  2. Reinstall the thru axle. Tighten by hand.
  3. Wrap a sheet of wax paper around the spacer. Tape in place.

  4. Pass a zip tie through each hole in the cardboard support for the fork.
  5. Lower the fork onto the support.
  6. Zip tie the support to the axle.

  7. Wrap a sheet of cardboard around each of the fork legs and tape in place.
  8. Wrap a smaller sheet around the brake caliper and tape in place.

Packing Out the Downtube

  1.  Cover the logos on either side of the downtube with a sheet of wax paper.
  2. Wrap the underside of the downtube with a sheet of cardboard and tape in place.
  3. Use a larger sheet of cardboard to wrap the entire downtube.

Lower the Saddle

  1. Open the seat clamp.
  2. Lower the saddle as far as it will go.
  3. Close the seat clamp.

Pedals & Cranks

  1. Use the provided 15mm wrench or an adjustable wrench to remove the pedals
  2. Remove the right pedal by turning counterclockwise and the left pedal by turning clockwise.

  3. Wrap the left crank with a small sheet of cardboard and tape in place.
  4. Zip tie the left crank to the left chain stay.
  5. Repeat for the other side.

Packing Out the Rear of the Bike

  1. Wrap a sheet of cardboard around the right chain stay and tape in plac.e
  2. Align a folded sheet of cardboard with a cardboard support. Zip tie these to the chain stay
  3. Repeat for the left side.884-886 Disassembly & Repack-12.gif


  4. Pass a zip tie through each hole in the cardboard support for the rear wheel.
  5. Align the support with rear wheel and push into place. Note: the support should rest under the rear frame members.
  6. Zip tie either side of the wheel support to the rear fender stay.

Removing and Packing the Footrests

  1. Use a 5mm allen wrench to remove the 2 bolts securing the footrest to the bike.
  2. Pull the footrest free from the frame.
  3. Repeat for the other side.

  4. Use a large sheet of cardboard to pack both footrests.
  5. Tape the packed footrests.

  6. Slide a large sheet of wax paper over the rear rack. Wrap a piece a tape around the end.
  7. Set the packed-out footrests onto the rear rack and zip tie in place.

Removing the Kickstand

  1. Disengage the kickstand.
  2. Use an 8mm allen wrench to remove the kickstand bolt.
  3. Remove the kickstand from the frame.

Installing the Center Support

  1. Lift the front end of the bike and slide the center support into place. Note, the open face of the support should be position towards the front of the bike.

  2. Feed a zip tie through the hole on either side of the support.
  3. Secure the support to both chain stays.

Securing the Front Wheel

  1. Set the front wheel onto the left crank.
  2. Secure the front wheel to the frame in 3 positions using zip ties: at the left crank, at the seat stay, and at the downtube.

Packing and Securing the Kickstand

  1. Wrap a sheet of cardboard around the center of the kickstand and both legs. Tape them in place.

  2. Position the kickstand along the rear of the frame as shown below
  3. Zip tie both kickstand legs in place.

Removing and Packing the Handlebar

  1. Use a 4mm allen wrench to remove the four bolts securing the handlebar to the stem.
  2. Remove the handlebar from the stem.

  3. Return the stem plate and secure it in place with the 4 bolts (only hand-tight).

  4. Wrap a sheet of cardboard around the handlebar.
  5. Position the handlebar across the downtube with the cables facing inward. The left handgrip should be position inside the fork.
  6. Zip tie the handlebar to the downtube. Make sure not to crush any wires or hoses.

Boxing the Bike

  1. With the help of another adult, set the bike into the lower tray portion of the carton.
  2. Set the upper portion of the carton over the tray.

  3. Install the headtube support, post-saddle support, hardware box, and tail support.

  4. Use the four clips to secure the upper and lower portions of the carton.

  5. Seal the carton with packaging tape.

  6. Circumnavigate the box with tape. It is strongly recommended that another adult lifts the ends of the carton while completing this step (the carton in the below GIF is empty).
