#881 Rear Rack Replacement

     Tools Needed: 4mm allen wrench, Phillips screwdriver

     Compatible Models: Flyer™ 881

 

Getting the Bike Ready for Servicing

  1. Remove the battery.

  2. Press and hold the power button the display to discharge any remaining power in the bike.

Removing the Taillight

  1. Use an 8mm or adjustable wrench to remove the 2 nuts secure the taillight to the rear rack

  2. Remove the taillight from the rear rack.

  3. Remove the clip securing the taillight to the rear rack.

Removing the Rear Rack

  1. To remove the 4 bolts securing the rear rack to the frame, use an 8mm or adjustable wrench to hold the nut capturing each bolt while loosening the bolts with a 4mm allen wrench.

  2. Pull the rear rack free from the bike.

Installing the New Rear Rack

  1. Align the 4 tabs on the bottom of the rack with the four holes on the frame.

  2. To fasten the new rack in place, insert a bolt through each of the 4 tab locations. Capture the end of each bolt with a locknut.
  3. Using a 8mm or adjustable wrench, hold the locknuts in place while tightening the bolt with a 4mm allen wrench.

Reinstalling the Taillight

  1. Align the 2 bolts on the back of the taillight with the 2 holes on the rear rack.

  2. Slide the wire strain relief over the expose bolt on both sides of the taillight.
  3. Capture the end of each bolt with a nut. Hand thread them in place.

  4. Tighten the nuts using an 8mm or adjustable wrench.

  5. Press the clip over the cable to secure it to the frame.

Preparing to Ride

  1. Reinstall the battery.

  2. Fully test the bike’s function prior to riding.
