#881 Battery Dock Replacement

Follow the steps below to swap the battery dock on your 881

     Tools Needed: 4mm allen wrench, Phillips screwdriver

     Compatible Models: Flyer™ 881

Getting the Bike Ready for Servicing

  1. Remove the battery.

  2. Press and hold the power button the display to discharge any remaining power in the bike.

Removing the Old Battery Dock

  1. Use a T25 Torx wrench to remove the 3 bolts securing the battery dock to the seat tube.

  2. Fold the kickstand up. Have another person hold the bike for kickstand removal.
  3. Use an 8mm allen wrench to remove the kickstand.

  4. Flip the bike upside down with the help of another person.
  5. Use a screwdriver to remove the PCM bolt near the rear wheel.

  6. Disconnect the battery dock from the PCM. To disconnect the cable, push your thumbs together and pull the connectors apart.

  7. Move the PCM to gain access to the bolt securing the bottom of the battery dock.

  8. Use a T25 Torx wrench to remove the bottom bolt.

  9. Set the bike back upright.
  10. Pull the battery dock free from the bike.

Installing the New Battery Dock

  1. To install the new dock, start by routing the cable through the opening just behind the seat tube.
  2. Align the 3 slots in the center of the battery dock with the 3 holes on the back of the seat tube.

  3. Fasten the dock in place with 3 bolts using a T25 Torx wrench.

  4. Flip the bike back upside down to secure the bottom bolt for the battery dock.

  5. Reinstall the kickstand.

  6. Fully tighten the kickstand bolt using the 8mm allen wrench.

Preparing to Ride

  1. Reinstall the battery.

  2. Fully test the bike’s function prior to riding.
