Compatible Models: Flyer™ M880 and Flyer™ L885
Getting the Bike Ready for Servicing
- Remove the battery.
- Turn the bike on, the screen should initially turn on, then quickly fade away.
Removing Battery Dock Plate
- Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the mounting bolts from the battery dock plate.
- Carefully pull up to remove the bottom section of the battery tray.
- Before moving or unplugging any wires, take a picture of the untouched set-up so you know how to correctly reconnect wires.
- After taking a picture of the connections, disconnect the cables that are connecting the battery dock to the bike. Relevant connections are shown below. Disconnect wires by pulling them apart with no twisting motion.
- Do not use any twisting motion to disconnect.
- Some connectors have locking clips, be sure to disengage the clips before disconnecting.

Removing Motor Controller
- Locate the motor controller. The motor controller is the silver metal box in the cavity beneath the battery dock that was just removed.
- Disconnect the wires coming from the motor controller. The relevant connections are below.
- Do not use any twisting motion to disconnect.
- Some connectors have locking clips, be sure to disengage the clips before disconnecting

- Use wire cutters to cut the three zip ties holding the cable in place.
- Locate the motor connector on the right side of the bike by following the cable from the hub motor on the rear wheel. Pull the connector apart without any twisting motions.
- Push the motor connector wire up through the hole in the body of the bike.
- The motor controller should now be free and can be pulled out of the bike body.
Connecting New Motor Controller
- Identify the motor connector. It is the long black cable coming out of the motor controller.
- Carefully feed the motor connector cable down and through the hole in the bottom of the bike body.
- After determining the correct orientation of the motor controller, place the controller in the bike body. Be sure to feed the motor connector cable down and through the hole in the bottom of the bike body.
- Connect the motor connector to the hub motor on the rear wheel.
- Reconnect the cables connecting to the top of the motor controller. Be sure to reference the picture(s) you took when uninstalling the old motor controller to ensure that you are reconnecting the cables correctly.

Reconnect Black Motor Controller Connector - Replace the zip ties that are used the hold the motor connector cable to the bike.
Install Motor Controller and Battery Dock Plate
- Reattach the remaining cables from the top of the motor controller to the cables on the battery dock plate. Be sure to reference the picture(s) you took when removing the battery dock plate earlier to ensure that you are reconnecting the cables correctly.
- Be certain to not pinch or compress any cables between battery tray and frame

- Be certain to not pinch or compress any cables between battery tray and frame
- Determine the correct orientation of the motor controller. The motor controller should be installed with the cables downward (i.e. closer to the pedals), and the side without cable should be upward, (i.e. closer to the handlebars).
- Carefully feed the wires into the frame of the bike, until the battery dock plate is sitting flush with the base of the battery compartment. Line up the holes in the bottom section of the battery tray with the holes in the bike.
- Be certain to not pinch or compress any cables between battery tray and frame.
- Using a Phillips head screwdriver, screw down the mounting bolts that attach the battery dock plate to the bike body.
Preparing to Ride
- Reinstall the battery.
- Fully test the bike’s function prior to riding.
